1 Corinthians 4:1–2
א וּבְכֵן צָרִיךְ שֶׁהַבְּרִיּוֹת יִרְאוּ אוֹתָנוּ כִּמְשָׁרְתֵי הַמָּשִׁיחַ וּכְמֻפְקָדִים עַל סוֹדוֹת אֱלֹהִים. ב וְאוּלָם מִן הַמֻּפְקָדִים נִדְרָשׁ לְהִמָּצֵא נֶאֱמָנִים.
1 Corinthians 4:1–2
4:1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 4:2 In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy. (NASB)
In 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 Paul speaks of ministry, stewardship, and faithfulness. Ministry is a term often associated with religious service and leadership. Stewardship refers to the responsible management and care of resources entrusted to one’s care. Faithfulness is a quality often associated with loyalty, trustworthiness, and commitment. The Torah emphasizes the importance of faith in God and adherence to the commandments and is what faithfulness is all about!
