Bits of Torah Truths – False Witnesses Accused the Disciples of Teaching Against the Torah – Episode 40

Acts 6:13–15

Acts 6:13–15
13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: 14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. 15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. (KJV)

The simple point is the text states that they set up false witnesses that claimed he was teaching against the Torah. The significance of this is that the text itself here calls these men false witnesses. So, the idea is that Stephen was a believer in Yeshua, and he did not teach against the Torah like many churches do today (i.e. it has passed away). So here is a first century witness that the Torah is valid for the lives of God’s people today! The Torah has not passed away!
