1 Peter 3:12

1 Peter 3:12
3:12 “FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.” (NASB)

Psalm 34:12–16
34:12 Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good? 34:13 Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. 34:14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry. 34:16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth. (NASB)

We note here that according to 1 Peter 3:12, Peter quotes Psalms 34:12-16 and states that God’s eyes are on the righteous while His face is against those who do evil. Notice how this is paralleled to Parashat Vayera (Genesis 18:1–22:24) in the Torah. The narrative in Genesis 18-24 speaks to how the Lord preserves the world for the sake of the righteous. This Emphasizes the importance of righteousness according to the Torah. We should all seek to live righteous lives. The Torah has not passed away.
