Tehillim / Psalm 139:22–24
כג חָקְרֵ֣נִי אֵ֭ל וְדַ֣ע לְבָבִ֑י בְּ֝חָנֵ֗נִי וְדַ֣ע שַׂרְעַפָּֽי׃ כד וּרְאֵ֗ה אִם־דֶּֽרֶךְ־עֹ֥צֶב בִּ֑י וּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ עֹולָֽם׃
Here the psalmist states “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” What these scriptures are teaching is that we must stop running from the truth about ourselves and our brokenness. It is only when we are truthful that we can experience healing and victory over addiction. This is what Yeshua meant when he said “The truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
